Communicating with Elders: Promising Strategies

Our populations are increasingly ageing. Our elders have needs that many adults and young people cannot meet except in certain institutions that are not always accessible to this age group of elders. Among these challenges, there is one that comes to mind: communication. Communicating well with elders should involve all of our youth and adults. So that's basically what participants in this session will learn. Without a doubt, seniors are a force to be reckoned with. Today, Canadians aged 65 and older make up 13% of our population. In 2036, they will account for 25% or more of the Canadian population!
