Introduction to modern African theater

Africa is a continent in turmoil. Since the colonial era when new theatrical forms and expressions were born, modern African theater has continued to take flight to the point that many attentive observers today find its identity problematic. This new theater cut ties with the colonial theatre. This African theater today corresponds to fusions of all the influences suffered to create a homogeneous and coherent work, according to the criteria of "globality" and "acceptability". It is this type of theater that we teach at GAFFO and teach learners to write their own plays and even better, by performing them!
