Introduction to puppet theater

GAFFO offers this introductory course in puppets for young girls and women who will learn how to make and manipulate puppets. As part of this course, participants will learn more about object theater or shadow theater and marottes. The trainer will use a manual approach (creation of a puppet, following the inspiration of each participant) and scenic approach (bringing this new object to life, making it interact with others and actors). An opportunity to discover some of the great diversity of African puppetry arts! Exploring the game with puppets and manipulation techniques will allow participants to discover another scenic language. As part of this initiation, participants will be asked to bring with them recyclable materials such as cardboard boxes, pieces of fabric that the tailors throw away, plastic bottles and polystyrene balls and/or other plastic objects. depending on the project that each participant will set.
